Poor Mr. Darcy.

Its been a couple weeks since I watched this movie.. seen it many many times mind you. I laugh at how it was back then. Very proper and all that stuff.. I believe though in the love story behind the story. I love period movies for some reason. Maybe I was reincarnated from the 1700's or something.  I love how they talk. Its very hard to understand the conversation at points. Em was home from school and wondering why i was crying at the end of the movie.

Sad and pathetic but I did enjoy watching it. Although it was like 2 hours long. I usually don't have time to watch a movie in its complexity. Even the shows on tv, I pvr them, and eventually get to them within the week anyways.

I enjoy watching Mr. Darcy get all nervous and stumble around his words and appear to Elizabeth, and then just stand there like a fool and then leaves again.

Is there a movie you love to watch?

The whole story about the poor girls and they can't marry the rich men of the stately houses. The young girls are married off young back then. Its crazy to think some of them were 16. Were you ready to get married at that age???

So many questions... and yet back to reality I come and realize what would I do in a huge house like that.. Sending Happy November vibes to yall.. Poor Jane Austen would fall over if she knew what we women can do with our lives these days. We should be happy we can speak our minds I suppose..

Happy November!

Purple and Prince

Never imagined that the purple prince would be epileptic, when I was a teenager I loved prince and it continues for sure. His style is a bit off the wall, but finding out he had seizures this year has inspired me to continue wearing purple. It just hits home a bit more.

the sun is actually out today! Late HAppy Halloween.

LAte Happy Halloween to you all, it was a dramatic one this year all over the world wasn't it. 1st above all else heart and thoughts go to New York and the rest of the areas affected by Sandy, or Frankenstorm, as it should have been called!

Here the kids went out, son was clearly not feeling well he came home early.. after about a week or so of on and off not feeling well, I think its past. I wish I had a picture of the kids, with him being sick I had to let go of some things I just couldn't get to. Hard to let go when its something you usually do but I had to stay with the sickie. :)

Crazy year just getting to this blog...

This year has been a crazy year... I always thought I was healthy. August 2011 began my journey into epilepsy land. I denied it. I refused to believe it. I see the specialist in November and having seizures monthly has made me realize life is way to short. Today I had a mammogram, that stuff hurts!

Ive been on twitter now for awhile, yes I am obsessed with these people. If you know who they are... :) add me on twitter.

Im just getting back into this so welcome and I hope you live every day to the fullest. I got angry yesterday and I vented and I probably should have thought about things first. But I am tryin to get it all out in the open. :) People probably think Im dramatic. Oh well.

To paint the stairs or not ???

Sitting on my deck...

Have you had to make a decision on a flooring delemma. How to cover a hump in your floor. Paint the floor? Carpet the floor???

Happy Long Weekend everyone I am so excited to finally say we are getting our living room and stairs done. We've finally put in the gloves on and made the decision to fight this decorating dilemma right in the face. Ive thought about blues and reds and pinks. Ok not really.
But with all this extra time on my hands lately, we sat down we planned this out a bit.

The decision to paint the stairs or not paint the stairs. Well the primer is on, so now its a matter of what color do we paint. A plain white paint and a carpet runner??Painted runner?? Thinking not.

The whole dark tread and white riser is not exactly what I am looking for. I was thinking somethin more monochromatic and peaceful looking. And yes more like a cottage feel. Not to say the very traditional look isn't completely amazing for a house from 1929. Sadly its not one of the large houses from that time that boasted the large grand staircases and the molding to boot.Otherwise I would go traditional looking.

Little bit more of what I might want..
Serene looking love it. almost to black and white looking though..

Playful and pink.. love it but not for my house.

Ok this whole pink thing and come on up is a bit suggestive.. so not thinking its a good idea overall. :)So we're scratching this idea, do you really think my hubby wants a pink staircase, so either way I am not getting away with this one. Honestly this wasn't even in the running as a choice.

As for flooring, we went with a click lock vinyl flooring , long story we have a hump in our floor as many of you with older homes may have experienced. The large hump has taken the hardwood out of our  hands, as it doesn't bend over things.

Over time the original flooring bent nicely. To install new hardwood isn't possibly. For months we've scoured the countryside. :) and located a more flexible flooring. It looks like old oak barn board and doesn't have the icky plastic look of the others. As for the steps they are getting primered and we will pick a desirable paint soon.

Then there's the kitchen.. we had a leak in our kitchen that extended to the dining room, hence ripping up the original hard wood. It was on its last leg anyways..:(

So 3 projects in 1.. Makes for a busy hubby. No I will try to help a bit with the painting. I will take my time no worries and will try not to fall over.

Have a wonderful long weekend!! This week will be filled with painting and sanding something or other. :)

This and that.

So the past couple months have been interesting since i last blogged. I was not sure where i would be this january hence the flight into the unknown. I decided on school and i start in January sometime. I struggled with the decision and settled on Office admin to start. I am very much still obsessed with decorating. Ever since I was little I would always watch this old house. My parents thought I was silly for wanting to buy an old house to fix up. You know it looks much easier on tv for sure. So my start or "refresh" into the real world has rolled on to doing the school thing. Im still knitting my dishclothes and they are christmasy. But they won't be done for Christmas. FAILLL My neck is an issue and I cannot knit for that long. I suppose we have to move with what is given to us. So I am slowly getting dishclothes finished. :) Just got my style at home mag and Im estatic. I got twittered by erin mcloughlin a couple times and followed by donnie wahlberg. Yes the world is good lol
